Nothing Crazy, I am looking into adding AMBER ( OEM ) color/style overhead LED ambient lighting like this.

Example:

The 2 Black Circles are where the LED's are.

I had this in my VW Jetta and I see it alot in other other luxury cars but it was not included in our G35's
I think it looked very classy and subtle, It shines down very lightly on the center console.

I wish there was an easy way to illuminate the sun-roof switch as well.

This is a pretty cool idea. When I had a rental TSX it had a bluish purplish spotlight, thought it was pretty shnazzy.

Any idea on where you want it to shine? Are you looking to light up the middle area or have it shine somewhere specific for night visability without turning on the dome light?

I think in the TSX it shined right where the ash tray was, the RSX also had a similar feature to shine on the cup holders/tray area.

I own a TSX, it does have a really subtle blue ambient lighting at night.......shines right on the shifter...nice touch IMO.

I think for our car, a really nice subtle orange glow would be perfect and match the interior light perfectly.

OP, your best bet is to have someone who owns an 05-06 sedan take a picture of their roof for you

I think the 2010 G's have this too. Gives a nice touch when driving at night. Most people probably wouldn't even notice, but it does come in handy.

As for the OP's question, I have no idea if they're the same. The one in the picture looks like mine, but it's hard to tell really.

Also, have you considered installing the light anywhere else? The ones I've seen are basically just a pinhole so you could really do it anywhere. Might be better to do it somewhere around the sunroof button so you can't see it everytime you open your sunglasses holder.

I've actually gave this some thought and felt that a good power source would be the homelink mirror

My quick google investigation looks promising, I think it'll be a direct swap.

Let us know what hardware you're gonna use. There are some threads on a few honda forums doing the same thing. More than anything I'm interested in what you're looking to illuminate. I think I'd have to sit in the car at night to see what spots need light or would look nice lit up.

I think it would probably be most useful if it shined down on the cupholders or even the center console compartment so you could find a drink/change/whatever else in the dark.

I have thought of this. I need to get a test LED and see where it shines. I would like to make it not that visible and recessed like OEM.

He was expanding on my TSX comment. I brought the TSX up because it is the only car I've ever driven that had ambient lighting up by the sunroof controls.
