Weighed my 03 5AT sedan today
I was working a scrap yard site today and decided to pull on the scale to see what my fully loaded 03 5AT sedan with a completely full tank of fuel weighed in at. The scale indicated 3,760lbs. Items in the car included:
1) Me 190lbs
2) field bag, hard hat, safety/rain gear - 15lbs
3) One baby seat and one booster seat - 20lbs
4) All weather floor mats - 20lbs
5) Tool bag in trunk - 20lbs
6) Softball/volleyball gear in trunk - 15lbs
7) Aftermarket 18s/tires +15lbs
Total weight - 305lbs
Curbweight (all fluids) - 3,455lb

Hmmm.. I weighed mine (04 5AT coupe) at the truck scales a few months ago and it weighed in at 36xxlbs. i weigh 180, had about half a tank of gas, a child safety seat (20lbs) , muffler delete (about 80lbs off), so that means my coupe weighs about 34xxlbs? I thought the coupe weighed about 300lbs more than the sedan?
mine weighed in at 3600lbs even at the drag strip in 2008. that included me (~200lbs) and a 1/2 tank, MINUS the spare tire.
so 3450lbs curb weight sounds about right.

Another note. Nissan rates the 03 sedan curbweight at 3,380lbs. According to the scale operator, the scale I used is calibrated to read a little high (~1%) as a safeguard that thier trucks stay well under the legal gross weight. That would mean my loaded G may have been closer ~3,720lbs. Doing some quick math would mean the estimated 3,455lb curbweight would be closer to 3,400lbs or within 20lbs of Nissan's quote curbweight. Pretty close. Seeing that my G has power front seats, moonroof, recycling rear seats, and the Aero kit, that's not a bad number. I'm still scratching my head as to how the 2nd gen G sedan (RWD) weighs anywhere from 250lbs to 300lbs more than my 1st gen.
I weighed my RWD 05 5AT fully loaded sport package sedan, with half tank of gas, topped fluids, spare tire at exactly 3500 lbs. That was without me (220lbs). The scale is probably around +/- 10lbs.
I had a bunch of stuff stripped out, but nothing that made the car uncomfortable. It's easy to hit low weights.
Mid pipe removal swapped with magnaflow(weighs even less than the coupe middy) No spare or tools, track wheels, no mats, carbon trunk and hood, glass bumper (weighs less than OEM) and a few other things I can't talk about

a couple years ago I weighed my car on a public truck scale - fully loaded (all mats, spare tire, jack, etc) and 1/4 tank gas was 3380 (without me in it)...
recently I weighed again on a new scale at work... everything exactly the same except for quite a bit of body mod work... I suspected the amount of fiberglass and filler used added about 100 lbs - and Ill be damned! the car weighs 3480 on the nose! (no lie, it was exactly 100 lbs more - Mark, aka hotdaawg man was there to confirm the current weight, and I have weigh ticket from previous)... I was shocked that I guessed/estimated the added weight on the nose
The one thing to consider though when we weigh our cars - is that truck scales are designed for tens of thousands of pounds... It not uncommon for them to be off by tens or even hundred pounds... and even though the variance between scales isnt as varied as different dynos (for example), you might weigh a bit more/less on one scale than another... If you use a public scale be sure its one that has major trucking companies use (the accuracy is typically more valid)... but a better option is to find one that private companies use because pricing and legal compliance is critical and its based on accurate weight.
