you can always get it fixed at radiomedics.com, I had them fix mine for 265..

Also, you might want to check the fuse and not just the audio fuse..

Mine did it once, last week. No power to the radio at all. Clmiate control was fine and I could control the stereo with the steering wheel controls only.

Turned the car off and bcak on and it's fine again.

I'm going to start amassing DD swap parts shortly.

Exactly. I prefer the stock look.

I also like the fact that it's a 6 disc changer instead of only holding a single disc.

I understand that. I guess I shouldve said... "I don't understand why someone would willingly and knowingly put a POS unit in their car"

everyone knows they fail. They're underpowered. The quality is crap. And it costs as much to fix it as it does to overhaul it. Even the stock layout of the headunit is **** too. No volume ****?! Who's the retard that designed that?

Give the unit a nice smack on the right side, mine started working fine after that & it's been a year now. The culprit is a loose wires or broken solder on one of the wires on the right side of the head unit. Good luck.

NFSP it seems like we're on the same page lol

and to Nyteowl:

I have the module to allow the steering wheel controls to work flawlessly with my unit for a mere $35. My point wasn't JUST the inconvenient location, but the fact that they're SWITCHES and BUTTONS. No ****. it makes for very cumbersome volume control.

But go ahead, fix the original unit. Or at least try. And when it breaks again and/or you can't get it fixed (like mine was) I can say I told you so. I was simply trying to simplify the solution for the OP and provide an overhauled alternative for the same amount of money and cause much less hassle for the OP. Your $0.02 and opinion seems to be more important than mine, however, so by all means... live with your stock HU while I rock out with my aftermarket head unit
oh, and to the comment about the 6 CD changer... sure.. you've got 6 CDs... but I've got a single disc that supports MP3 and data... and my iPhone holds 32 GB of music and that's hardwired to charge conveniently in my center console. Like I said before... much better solution.

Don't have an Ipod/MP3 thing, never will. I hate them.

At least until they stop producing CD's entirely including CDR's, I will always prefer a 6CD changer over one of those things.

I'm not here to debate which is better and why, but that happens to be my personal preference at the moment.
