^Size. A single din is only half as tall.

I didnt read the entire thread, but I just had this issue on our 03... I found a guy/company/dunno on ebay that sells refurbs for $330 or will fix yours for $150.

I bought the repair for $150 and had my radio back in 6 days! That included shipping between Memphis and LA using USPS... I think my total with shipping and everything was around $190... certainly better than paying for the JDM kit and new double din or buying a new OEM.

It may not be the route for everyone, but it worked great for us...

^Good job. You paid slightly less to fix the OEM crap-deck.

So you fixed one of the three very common problems... That leaves only two to go. If those each cost $190 as well, you could have easily picked up a JDM kit and decent aftermarket stereo.

hey im new to the forum and getting ready to purchase a 2003 g35 sedan and noticed that the whole center console is out. Ive been reading up on the dd conversion and it sounds like it works for the radio, but will it also fix the ac controls?

If you get the JDM kit, yes the AC controls will be included and you won't have any issues...

And I did what I could afford to do, and that works for us right now. Under $200 to get a working radio and AC again, versus waiting until we can afford a $350 JDM kit, a $300+ radio, and probably $100 in other cables and stuff...

So, to me... $200 working NOW > $750 next year at tax time. Sorry y'all don't approve... I'll try not to lose any sleep tonite.

If the entire center console is out...why buy the car?

I mean if I were purchasing a car and the window didn't roll down, I'd walk away. The entire center console being dead would def scare me off.

I didn't read the whole thread, but just buy the Metra kit. It comes with all the HVAC circuitry you need. Infiniti will tell you that it might not be the radio unit and it might be the HVAC board, etc. etc. etc. but just get the Metra Kit and an aftermarket HU and nail the problem in the head.

Make sure you get line level drivers/boosters as well, because typical HUs will not have the output voltage capacity that the Bose amps need unless you plan on replacing those as well..I use Phoenix Gold line drivers.

Brought the car to the dealer for the airbag recall, and I was told if I replace the radio with an identical Bose headunit It would go away. He then told me the car had its circuit board replaced in 03, and headunit replaced in 05, so he didnt put his two and two together and think. Aftermarket is the only thing to do with this problem. Cheaper in most cases too.

It will go away... for a while...

While going through some boxes the other day, I found the guts of my broken CD player.

You'll never guess what sticker it had on it? Yep, "Remanufactured"

So it had already been replaced by the dealer at least once, and broke again.

Junkyard's right. Aftermarket is the only real solution.

I know it has been said many times but I was just showing proof that dealer s will charge 575+ labor for a temp fix, what 3 years? I can get a nice 5inch pioneer head unit and frame from crutchfield for 549.

Found this thread googling for my broken a/c. 03 g35 coupe, no nav.

Yesterday or the day before I pushed the 'econ' button because the weather is getting nice enough not to always need the a/c. Today (when it was hotter), I noticed the a/c wasn't coming on at all. Even when I cranked the temp down to 60. I checked tonight and the compressor clutch isn't engaging. Secondary fans come on when a/c button is lit. Radio functions fine from front panel and steering wheel. checked all fuses and fusible links. All seems good.
Do I have the dreaded bad circuit board problem? Is there a circuit diagram for troubleshooting? I just spent $600 on tires two weeks ago, so I hope I don't have to drop more money on it.
