^That doesn't sound like the circuit diagram problem to me.

A couple of issues you might have:
Compressor clutch itself might be bad. I remember one thread where the guy's compressor clutch actually broke in half (front part came off)

Some vehicles will not engage the compressor if the line pressure is to low to prevent damage to the compressor. IDK if this is the case with the G, but I've seen other cars (mostly GM) that won't engage the compressor at all if the system has bled down too much.

Could I possibly have the only 03 sedan in existence that hasn't had any radio or HVAC issues This thread is extremely informative though. I really like the look of that $199 JVC. I didn't realize DD units had gotten so cheap.

Thanks. I'm putting it up on jacks this weekend to remove the under tray. I'll see if I can jump the compressor clutch to see if it spins. Also got the service manual from the library, I'll diagnose the electrical part of it.

So I took the battery compartment apart and the under car plastic bit off. As a whole unit I wasn't getting power down to the compressor clutch. I tested each bit individually and the clutch, relay, fuse and wire all seemed to work fine. Even ran the diags on the electronic parts. Put it all back together it it's working fine now. Maybe I had a bad connection somewhere that got cleaned up when I reassembled everything.

Glad it's not the radio circuit board

my 03 sedan A/T just has same problem, A/C full blowing and radio dead. the face board was replaced in 03 by dealer (voluntary recall). I am going to take it apart this weekend and re-solid all possible points.

mbian, don't waste your time, I tried it myself a few month ago. I ultimately purchased a refurb radio on ebay for $300 - $110 trade in for my old radio. There are also some very good suggestions on this board for replacement radios, I decided to stay stock.

Let us know how it goes. It's worth a shot. These shops repairing these boards can't be doing a whole lot on the fix. My 9 y/o Bose/AC unit flaked out for the first time ever two weeks ago. A solid whack to the rightside of the console fixed it. It has to be something pretty obvious on the board.

Mine has been getting a lot worse recently. I've had to beat it 2-4 times per week :/
Really need to get my CarPC project rolling.

hi mbridge

Thank you for your advice.

did you buy the radio only, or buy with the face board together?
I am trying to isolate the problem.
Actually, I took it apart last night, and found 2 leads of the ribbon cable burnt to black.

That ribbon cable looks pretty sketchy. When I took mine apart I thought it was the ribbon cable too. Put it back together and it worked for a few weeks and the then shut off again. Then I purchased a new face board, same thing. Finally I purchased the refurb radio and haven't had a problem in a few months now. That leads me to believe that it's the power source and not the contacts.
