sorry didnt see the EDIT part...

I would be more concerned about some just taking them at a car meet or parking lot (the CF Side Mirror Clips)

Ehh.... I'd just use some CF vinyl and call it a day. We just bought a roll for an exhibit we're putting together at work and it was $225 for 36" x 75'.

Personally, I wouldn't do it.

i did the same to the center console all the way to the arm rest, and it was nice for like 1 month, but as soon as it got warm the vinyl started to come up at the corners where i had to stretch it and in the curves (where the air ducts meet the radio cover.) It was cool looking, just didn't hold up in the summer heat.....

It sounds like you have lo-tack or interior grade vinyl. The stuff we have has incredibly aggressive adhesive; same grade used on highway signs.

It's also reflective on the grain which makes it look pretty realistic.

I used the 3M Di-NOC sheet, and was nice. looked real, had a dry carbon feel to it. its good as long as you dont strech it out to wrap curves or weird corners. my center consol around the shifter was nice the whole time, but the radio area got jacked up as soon as the heat came on.
