Plenum Whistle

Just installed a 5/8 plenum spacer, and Im getting a very high pitched whistle just as the car is in idle. Any ideas? Im going to try loosening the screws might be too tight causing the spacer to warp, but suggestions are welcomed.

Anyone else run into this problem?

did you use a torque wrench? the outside bolts must be torqued to 100 ft lbs and the inside bolts must be 80 ft lbs. i think that would be the first place to start if you didn't use a torque wrench. but yeah if the bolts are too tight you will warp the spacer and get the plenum whistle

DO NOT torque to 100 ft lbs, it is INCH lbs and there is a specific order to do it in

I am willing to bet that the rubber surround for the oil filler neck is wedged between the plenum and the spacer.

what plenum spacer is it?

You need to retorque the bolts down. be careful, some people have overtightened and caused much more serious problems...

^ Haha, I love that video! The best is when he almost drills a stop sign and a parked car while trying to show off by speeding away at the end.

After seeing that video it totally makes me want to get one of those whistle tips. Only two problems:

1. Only available in Oakland
2. Hurts performance because "Iss juss fo' decoration"
