First long trip in the G35. Loving it more every day

439 miles for work today. 8 hours and 20 minutes of almost all highway driving. A/C blasting the whole time. 25.3 MPG average for the trip and had a few blasts from toll-booths mixed in. I love how tight the steering is, how great the seats are, how well the stereo plays, how nice the engine sounds, how well the car drives on long straight flats and on curvy mountain roads. Even the arms rests on both sides fit me well and I'm comfortable (could use just a tad more knee space but I'll live).

It's very enjoyable to drive and I'm very happy I bought it last month. It's nearly ideal as a work-vehicle for me. Very versatile, looks good, performs well and treats you very well even on very long trips like today.

good to hear OP, I'll add my trip experience too.
I did 4200km over 4 days at 10 hours and 1000km a day driving, from Vancouver to Toronto in my coupe.

and I'm the guy in the movie theater reshuffling his seating position every 5 minutes, but gotdang, the comfort the OEM seats gave me just reminded me of why exactly this car is a luxury car and why it cost 50k+ brand new when it was first released.

And the engine held up real nice, no overheating no issues whatsoever, hauled a$$ every day and I was doing 100km - 150km, which is roughly 60mph - 100mph all day every day for pretty much the whole 10 hours!

my next trip I'm planning is taking it to Europe, land it in Sweden and road trip all the way down to Greece, I'll make sure to post my results, lol

I road tripped from Orlando, FL to Houston, TX before. That took about 18 hours, and filled the gas up 3 times one-way I think. It was pretty comfortable driving the whole way but to further the experience, I'd love to take a trip to SoCal one day for the all-sedan meet (if there's one planned)

Not to take away from the original point of the thread, but I don't think a sedan is a 50k car even now. The 2003 msrp was 27-35k when first released and even now loaded models are in the mid 40's. The window sticker on my 06 is 41k and I have everything but the chrome wheel option. I don't think fully loaded '11 sedans have passed the 50k mark yet.

they are well over $50K in Canada! at least the M6 sedan i'm looking at is (~$55k)...which is why i'm considering importing a US '09 model.

Think he means manula 6speed (m6)

To the OP: Glad you like it on the road! I took mine to California last summer from Minnesota and was more than pleased.

Next Saturday i leave for Florida. Like 24 hours of straight driving and somewhere around 1000miles. Not concerned about it in the least. This car is very comfortable!
