My 94 TA was so funny. You really could't feel any power difference at all. In fact, I did about a dozen 1/8th mi runs one day and all my best times I had forgot to turn the AC off

I think the G actually shuts off the compressor at WOT

they probably are smokers, thats an old school smokers trick, it sucks the smoke air out while reducing the in cabin road or wind noise..

If you leave the fan on but turn the A/C off, thats just funneling air from the outside into you right? Do you think you'd get better gas mileage running it that way?

no cuz u r still running the fan. The best gas mileage is achieved with all the windows closed including the sunroof and no fan or A/C on.

you are losing very little MPG by running the A/C

do you guys think we are driving a 1940s car or something?

you will lose more MPG with improperly inflated tires vs running the A/C

Well believe it or not this is the first car I've owned where the AC actually worked. My 94 civic, 92 conversion van, and 95 volvo 850 were all sweat-boxes.

The G doesn't lose much hwy MPG from running ac. I've tested it with windows up, no-ac and only improved about 1 MPG.

And as for the statement about not running the fan... the blower motor makes an extremely small draw on the electrical system... You'll lose more MPG from turning the headlights on, IOW there's basically no loss.
