coupe midpipe install = rattle noise

hey guys, well grant just installed my coupe midpipe and it is making a rattle noise around where it seems to be the Y pipe since i feel the noise is by where my gear shifter is. he did put a rubber thing on before i left so it cleared out the noise but it seems it fell off.

grant told me he needs to find a part to put in that area, is there a temporary fix.. thing rattles like hell when i start the car... i feel like im on my sentra lol

and does anyone know where exactly the noise is coming from?
thanks

Are you missing any hangers? There is only 1 hanger to install and 4 bolts.

i doubt it, grant installed it and he seems to be familiar with a lot of the bolt ons..
grant said he needs to get a better piece that will wrap around a metal piece.. to me it seems as something could be loose but then again the midpipe coupe is much smaller so it does reach less than the sedan midpipe.

i had a rattle when I had the coupe midpipe on my car too. From my experience, the coupe midpipe has a little bend/curve that is slightly different than the sedan's midpipe. That part sits too close to a little brace that I assume might be to block the exhaust from coming up and hitting the drive shaft in an accident. On my car, it only rattled on bumpy roads, but i guess its worse on your car.

+1 same issue happened to me. take it back and have them look to make sure that it is not touching anything to make it vibrate

You just have to push the heat shield upward not to much and you will be ok, i did this 3 years ago you should be fine when you work on that heat shield.

+1 I had this same issue. I did not want to remove the brace so I went with a Sedan 05 midpipe and couldnt be happier with the set up. GL but I am SURE it is hitting the brace below the driveshaft. I thought of covering it with something but it is not worth the trouble and couldnt think of something that would be perminant and stay

^^ I wondered how long it would take you to find this thread. I guess you're not crazy and your CM isn't the bastard child we thought it was.
