Need help in selecting and installing a in dash dvd player w/
motorized 7" screen. Has anyone done this????

Check out my install In Tecnical/Modifications forum and search for custom install. I installed the Kenwood kvt-911 dvd/tv in the cubby hole.

Try www.pureaudio.com.........That's where i got mine. Cost me $1759 plus shipping. Just bought a Kenwood Sirius tuner on E-Bay. Was dead on arrival so I would be kinda leery of buying something as expensive as KVT-911 on e-bay.

 

Found this combo for around $1100. This is without the tv tuner. Just want to stick with the basics for now. Do you know if the monitor will fit in the cubby hole in the dash? It is 5 1/2W x 1 3/16H x 3 5/8D ?

It should fit with no problem. The unit i had installed was so deep that they had to modify the heat/ac main air duct so it would fit. I beleive yours should fit without any drastic modifications. Let me know how it goes.

 

Clarion makes a great touchscreen model. VRX-935 or the 925. 925 is a little older but pretty much identical to the 935 model.

No, it did not affect the Bose as I am using an FM modulator for the audio from the DVD/TV and Sirius. It plays through 89.9 FM, so I just have a button set on the Bose unit.

 

Along the same lines, does anyone know of a good model of regionless dvd player, or one that can be modded easily? i'd prefer pioneer, sony, kenwood, major name brands, and i'm willing to pay for it, but I have many many foreign dvds that i'd want to use.
