Fuel Gauge issues

After autocrossing yesterday I noticed that later that evening my fuel gauge would not rise to the level of fuel quickly. It would take about 10 miles of driving to get it to go to the level of fuel I have. I tried restarting the car a few times and sometimes it would be good and act normal and sometimes it would just stick to E. Could this be a loose wire? I was freaking out and thought I had a gas leak.

There is a big thread on this someplace cant find the link now, Something about the bobber's track gets dirty and doesn't float right or something.

Well that has always been a minor problem, but it stopped all together last night I thought I just knocked a sensor loose, Well it stopped doing it today so its not a big deal as of right now.
