Grounding kit for a '04 auto G worth it?

Hey i was wondering if a grounding kit is worth the money. I have an '04 auto G with 55k miles on it. I was reading on stillen that the kit would improve shifting and reduce lag on an automatic transmission. Is this true or i guess worth it?

I would save your pennys for something more direct. Maybe a Transgo shift kit. Grounding kits really don't do that much for the money. It's hit and miss for people. I noticed no difference in anything with a grounding kit and removed it quickly.

+1^

if you do get a grounding kit do your research, some are "better" than others, I have the Stillen and notice no difference. I also have a trans-go shift kit and that makes a big difference, not in speed of shift but in firmness.

i found a brand new stillen kit locally for stupid cheap and decided to buy it just for the heck of it...i have a 2003 g35 sedan 6speed. the stillen instructions that came with it were a real pain in the aurs to follow with the install, anywho after like two hours i finally installed it.

Now here what i noticed right after: before i installed the ground kit, ive been driving my car for over 2 years so any change i will most likely notice. after the ground kit install i noticed my engine dose run a bit smoother. heres what i mean, do u guys know the feel after an oil change? yeah, kinda like that feeling except only about 50%. and also the throttle response was just a little quicker, thats about it.

i dont have an auto so i cant say for the transmission
no, none of my lights are brighter
no, my windows dont roll down or up faster
no, my radio isnt louder or better
and no, i did not notice any performance gains with my butt dyno

hope this helps

Dont take my word for it...learn from a few dozen of my happy customers...

I do agree that the Stillen kit is pure junk. I know because I had one and threw it in the trash. It motivated me to develope my own custom kit. I have now sold 300+ kits and the feedback is 100% positive. Check the review thread above and read all my itrader feedback ratings.

PM me if you are interested.

Just make your own. 1 wire to ground the engine and 1 for the transmission. Supplimental grounding is nothing new as manufacturers have always used inadequate ground cables sometimes for these.

I think running sp many wires is overkill. You just need one good solid ground each.

Thats what I did, kinda.
I searched online to find pics and instructions of several different kits and created my own. $20 later I came up with one and IMO it was worth the money spent. I have a 5AT and the shifts are quicker. Power wise?? IDK it could have added .01hp but ill never know.
I dont think id spend $100 for $20 in wire, connectors and shrink tube, but making your own is worth it.

A friend of mine has a sXe kit in his car and I could feel a big difference when I drove it, the shifts are much crisper and cleaner imo.

Grounding kits will make your 5AT shift smoother/quicker, that's worth the cost of the kit. PM SxExCx (sean) for a kit that really works!
