Center console buttons dead?

Center console buttons dead?
So as you can see from my sig, I have a 03.5 sedan, and it seems like the buttons on my center console have finally kicked the bucket. About a year ago they were going in an out, and recently they went off and havent come back on in weeks. The radio is off, and the AC is set on high at the lowest temp, so it is getting pretty annoying. I'm trying to figure out if I am lucky and it is just a fuse, or if the wiring harness for the center console is shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok so i found the "dreaded hvac/radio" thread, and I guess that the circuit board has finally given up the ghost. Anyone care to point me in the right direction to replacing it all with aftermarket stuff? I apparently need a double din and an aftermarket head unit, but what do i get to take care of the A/C controls?

Percussive maintenance is a less reliable solution for this problem.
Works wonders (for a while) on the CD ERR problem though.
OP - Glad the guide is still being found by some people, good luck with the replacement. Don't be shy about posting any requests for help in a/v forum... it's my 3rd home.

^"Percussive maintenance" Oh man, that's good stuff right there... I'll have to remember that one
Actually, that worked for me the only two times my car did this. That was last Nov (IIRC) and it hasn't been a problem since
I've got a double-din kit in the mail right now, so soon it won't have a chance to be a problem.

Don't be shy about photos and video and such during installation, I keep a rather large collection myself to answer people's questions as necessary, so any additional angles of photos that I can point people to check out are always good to have posted here.

DIY? Oh that one is easy! Here you go:
DIY - Fixing radio/hvac issues
Step 1: Give a light tap on the right side of the radio unit
Step 2: Test the unit, If it now works, congrats, you're done! If not, proceed to step 3.
Step 3: Repeat step 1, increasing force. If unit becomes completely broken in the process (or you hurt your hand) buy a Double Din kit and aftermarket radio... and you're done

hitting it is a temp. solution.
I went through the same problem/decision process.
ended up spending $1200 on everything, but I made it better than ever before. Was able to add on Bluetooth, backup cam, and full functional IPod input. IMO it's worth it. I had factory nav already, but if you don't adding a nav is also another extra perk.
My advice is to get teh Genuine Nissan JDM AC board and the double din finisher. You can save $100-150 by buying the aftermarket Metra kit, but they look like crap!
