fix for loose shift plate trim?

I took my car to the dealer for a squeaky center console/ rattles between the seams of the plastic trim near the shifter and the dealer fixed it using felt tape. However, now my shift plate trim is loose and moves back and forth, in the direction of the shift **** (i.e. up and down.) Is there a quick and easy fix? Searching around, it looks like the shift plate trim doesn't just pop out from the top and need to remove the entire center console.

The shift trim plate comes out very easy on the auto.
Pull downward on the chrome ring under the shift know.
Pull the metal pin under the shift know to the front of the car - DON'T LOSE IT.
Now the shift trim plate can be popped off.

Thank you for the link to the pictures and the directions. I was able to take out the center console and tightened the screws for the shift plate, though it still moves a little bit. Maybe I should use a double sided tape around the edges.

I took the car for the airbag recall and some other warranty work done and got the car back with a scratch on my door. They buffed it out but there are some deep scratch spots on the door- which to the naked, casual eye, you can't see but since I know that the scratch was there, my eyes automatically zoom to that spot on the door. So I was hesitant to take my car back to the dealer.

My warranty is still good till the end of this year, so for now, I'll just live with the plate shifting slightly. If it gets worse, I'll take it back to the dealer.
