Wider tires on stock wheels.

Is this true... Can you put a more aggressive offset tire like 245 or 255 on a 235 wheels?

Tires I have currently on my car are 235/35/18 dude at discount tire told me to get a more aggressive offset?

Never new you can do this.. is this true?

you could do a 245 35 18 or 245 40 18 .

it all depends on the width of your rim . a 255 will be over kill and you will rub if your fenders are not rolled.

I'm assuming your stock is like a 7.5 Wide in the back and if you put a 255 in the back would make it look retarded IMO your side walls Will be blown out past the rims

You have a 235/45. You can go 245/45 or 245/40. I would do 245/45 since you're not dropped too much. It'll fill in the gap nicely.

I did 245 45 18 on my stock wheels with no issues, in fact it rode and handled much better.

A 255/50 will work in the rear but you have to worry about rubbing.. I read that i n a post ... Try searching "biggest tire on a stock rim" and find the thread on this topic and read it

I know that 245 is the width of the tire and 18 is the rim size but what's the 40?

This is what I am currently running and it looks good unless you are into the stretched look.

245-width of tire , 40-Aspect ratio of the side wall (height) , 18-wheel size you have been on these forums how long now and didn't know that??? Lol

So your goal is what figure out tire specs for your wheels to get .... If you are low a taller tire will rub .... Post a picture of your car and tell us if you have a drop , if so how high is the fender to the floor ??? I'm assuming you want hide some wheel gaps as well ...
