In most cases to let built up moisture drip out to avoid and corrosion, but on occasion they are the mounting points for the tip.

Thinking about it since I opened a brand new tube of epoxy yesterday. Would hate to waste it and not mold something with the rest of the product.

If you're buying springs and shocks new you're almost into the same cost as coils...

Springs and struts are going to run you $600, and the struts are almost identical to the OEM ones. Why not spend another $100-$200 and get fully adjustable coilovers...

I got my Tokico DSpec-9's for $580 shipped from conceptzperformance I believe. Then I got my Tein 350z Stechs for 180 shipped( don't remember the vendor). I'm very happy with the setup. Low, but not too low so I can clear speed humps and such without too much scraping if I take it slow. +1 to 4DGS's comment about the similar cost to a decent coilover setup.
