I never said I was relying on the engine to slow my car down, I was just trying to heat up the exhaust.. and this is what I noted when driving.

if water was blocking your exhaust(which it can't unless you are in a pond) you would just stall, it can't pass through your cat and get sucked into your engine. anything near the cats is gonna burn up pretty fast

one time i was driving in a really bad rain storm with my rsx and the parkway was starting to flood a bit. my car just stalled, i thought it was hydrolocked but it turned back on...could have been the exhaust...made a bunch of white smoke when i turned it back on...seemed fine after

i guess that isnt really relevant..idk

Question

Hi guys I am a noob when it comes to car mods.

Here are my questions:

-Can I get just the muffler to make my car sound deeper?
-If so, How many inch should I go? 3 inches?
-What brand would you prefer?

Like I said I am a car noob . Sorry if my questions arnt clear.

Thank You!

wow they reopened the RLQ thread and a noob was the first to find it lol. g35studd a muffler will make it sound a little deeper but i recomment at least doing the midpipe as well for a coupe midpipe or remove the resonator on your oem midpipe in place of a straight pipe. The HKS muffler is pretty popular around here but is quite pricey. I'm personally gonna go with this megan racing muffler soon, it looks good and is affordable

why would you get a megan muffler, pay to have it welded, and buy a coupe midpipe when you could just buy a megan catback for $400?

If i get a new muffler I will have to take it to the shop to get it welded?

How much would it cost to weld the muffler?

If you get the HKS axleback its just a bolt on. So no welding needed.
