Putting the jack back in the trunk

I'm sure this has been brought up before but I couldn't find it by searching.

How the f*** do I get the scissor jack back into its compartment in the trunk? I got it out just fine but after 30min of trying to put it back in I'm stumped.

I thought it went in with the top of the jack (the part that makes contact with the car when lifting) pointed towards the inside of the trunk. I could be wrong.

The Nissan engineer who designed this needs to be punched in the face.

i never had a problem with it, make sure its all the way closed, it goes up and at a slight angle and when it feels latched open it a bit and it will lock in place

no you need to turn it counter clockwise, it needs to point up as if your using the jack, it goes in at an angle too.

Yep, have the jack as small as possible, angle into the sheet metal, then twist the screw to open the jack...thus holding it in place. And yeah, lol, it is a bad design.

Thanks for the help guys - I got it back in. Took me less than a minute once I know what direction it was supposed to go in.
