Bit of a Hate/Love relationship tonight with the G.

Well, for those of you that are on my facebook or talk to me regularly, you will know that my G had an OBNOXIOUS rattle. FilmG has heard it in person and it had gotten to the point, where i heard it over my sound system when it was cranked. It got so bad that i felt it in my door.

Now, if you know me well, you will also know that i am the BIGGEST OCD person ever. Little **** like my oil change being 30miles over the sticker drives me nuts and forces an immediate pitstop to have it changed. I hate seeing dust on my dash, and waterspots are my enemy.

But back to my rattle. This f**ker meant business and actually drove me to not wanting to drive my car.

Tonight i took it on a quick spin to get a Strawberry Banana smoothie from Mcdonalds (very good btw, i recommend you try one!) and i went from laid back, relaxed, and cruising, to just utterly pissed at the sound of this stupid focking rattle buzzing away while im trying to enjoy some Supertramp and my smoothie!

I just said screw it, got the freeway, and had a little beat on session in the G. Got her above 5k rpms (for the first time in a LONG while) and ran it through the gears down the on-ramp. Felt good, but then as soon as i got back off, that fricken rattle. Boy was i pissed.

Drove back to my house, music paused, listening to that stupid thing the whole way. Got in my garage, and ripped that damn door panel off faster than you can say 'I'v had it'

Got a text from FilmG asking if i wanted to go see The Other Guys half way through my rattle exorcism and decided to take a break. That movie was epic by the way, go see it!

Got back, and continued. I had felt pads going out my cars door seams but i didn't care! I was mad with rattleism and needed to fix that stupid thing so badly!

Took the car for a spin quick to see if it was my actual door and not the panel, it wasn't. But damn, without that panel on, the car is LOUD! I heard everything, and the sound deadener on the door panel is WEAK! Shame on Infiniti!

Got back, threw the panel on (its 1am now and im screwing around in the garage) and decided to take her for a quick spin. SUCCESS!!!!!!!! THANK THE LORD! I cannot express how fricken relieved i was. I was on Cloud 9 as i was driving my car, IN SILENCE!! (well, aside from the 2 backseat rattles, my squeaky passenger seat, and the squeaky sunroof, but those PALE in comparison and don't bother me much)

Went for a little cruise, and the love came right back for the Lil' G.

And btw, before i went destructive on my door panel, here is the rattle. Yes, you heard it. That was what i have been living with since my Florida drive. There were times i almost had to pull over so i could stop hearing the noise!

So anyways, thats my friday night for you. It was basically me and my car arguing, but we made up in the head. Sorry for the essay length post

Yea what really triggered the sound was when you'd hit the little tar lines in the road with the small bump, and that just sent it wild.

Noise was coming from the upper part of the door handle. I just kind of took felt pads and went all over around it. Trying to get them in between as many hard surfaces as i could. I even peeled the leather handle back and squeezed them underneath the armrest. Felt pads were just small little brown pads that i bought at home depot.

I too have a love/hate relationship with this car. I am on my 3rd G35 coupe over about 5 years of ownership, and I absolutely hate how shoddily this car is built. Love how it looks though (minus the ironing board spoiler), which is what always has me coming back.
