Things that break down at 100K miles

Car is nearing the 100K mark. I was wondering what kinds of issues others are having at this mileage. So far, the compression rod bushings were changed at 90K.

Anything else ahead such as the water or fuel pump, alternator, etc.? Also, what was the repair cost?

+1 bearing replacement. Since I abuse my car, I also have to replace:

the steering rack and pinion
compression rods and bushings
drive axle shaft

Again, that's all from abuse and road conditions in New York. To be honest, the car has very minimal problems! I'm also at 100k, I think I will flush my transmission fluid and get my drive axel replaced soon if I could find a cheap enough used one.

top off your blinker fluid and you should be good to go. these cars are built like tanks

Check the Power steering fluid, at 45k mine was black.

This fluid usually goes unchecked.

I've just hit 122,000 mi on my 2005 and everything is holding steady. I did just replace the original battery as a preventative measure. I'm probably going to be putting new shocks on soon.

Transmission, differentials and transfer case were switched to synthetic fluids at 60k. You should probably look at flushing your coolant, brake, and power steering fluid if they have not been changed in the last 2 years.

At 105,000 miles you are scheduled for a sparkplug change.

I just do a maintenance check every 2-3 weeks

If I need shocks I buy them then.

Two weeks later ill give the car another look over. If it needs a belt or hose; I swap it.

The "replace X part at X miles" doesn't always apply to every part on your car.

If it aint broke dont fix it

its not a time bomb... things break some come earlier and some take longer. all depends if u have taken care of the car.. then the car will take care of you.
