The "Cam Position Sensor" strikes again

Read over a couple of threads last night after having stalling problems when at idle or almost idle (decelleration). Took it in to my trusty non-dealership tech this a.m. and dropped her off. Around noonish he called and told me it was the famous cam sensor (the right one) was throwing a code and he suggested replacing both. I trust his judgement and authorized the $347 repair (two sensors and labor).
I know this has been talked about before, but he informed me that this is a common problem w/ the G's and similar Nissan models and they updated the sensors, so just wanted to pass that along.
FYI, my VDC off, slip and check engine lights all came on and it acted exactly like others' here on the forum having the same issue. I appreciate the info and even though I personally had no idea what it was, I felt comfortable with my tech's diagnosis, due to the information I gathered before hand.
Thanks ya'll.

^Driver strikes again. This site is most valuable when it comes to find info like that. It's helped me out a number of times in the past.

Thanks for sharing

I actually was thinking it was gonna be the ac compressor locking up because it's making a fluttering noise that has gotten progressively louder over the year(s). So I conjured up this idea that it was seizing and since it is belt driven to the crankshaft, that it was grabbing and causing the engine to die. It only did it at low idle (like sitting at a stoplight).
Then a shade-tree mech said it sounded like throttle pos sensor, so started doing research.
Still need to figure out if my ac has a problem. It works great, just noisy.

My AC compressor is noisy, too. Sounds like the car has two engines when the AC is on, lol. Just waiting for it to go...
