Something really weird happened...someone help!!

I was driving on saturday night and all of a sudden i noticed that the service engine soon light turned on along with the slip light and the vdc-off light. as soon as i saw them the gas pedal stopped working. i pushed the pedal a little bit more and nothing. then i floored it and the revs only went up about 1000. i pulled over turned my car off, waited a minute, then turned it back on and it worked fine...and has been since saturday, but the service engine light is still on. i just passed 48800 miles on my car...is something supposed to go out at this time????? can anyone explain to me why my gas pedal stopped working and my car basically dying on me?

anything will help.
thanks.

You should be able to get the code checked at autozone or advanced. It sounds like the cam position sensor bug that alot of G's have gotten. Mine got it a few weeks ago. Had to replace both CPS's and good to go!

Here's a link on how to do it:

or you could disconnect the battery overnight...

so I take it you never did the ecu reset?

if its off now that means the ecu fixed itself. If it comes back on then have it checked.

This happened once when I had a blowout. The car went into limp mode and I drove home at a very slow speed. I thought I broke it, but after awhile it "fixed" itself and I have not had the problem since.

No i did not try resetting it. I was planning on attempting that this weekend but the light turned off and everything seems good so far. We'll see what happens though. Thanks for the help.
