i just hit up jiffy lube for my oil change at about 18k miles. they told me that its recommended to have a fuel injection cleaning at 15k. is that true? or are they BS'ing me?

what exactly do i need at 15k? its all inspections right? and the regular ol oil change...

15K is just inspections. I had my brakes replaced at
15K. Get ready....At least it's under warranty
I'm at 48K and I think it is running better now than when new!

Just had my 15K service done at 21K miles. The dealer charged $386. Most of it was inspection, but they found the front brakes very low, and replace them under warranty. It's funny, I did not notice the braking was getting long. They also change the in-cabin filter. I decide to do it just to make sure Infiniti doesn't try to screw me, if I ever developed any problems.

Infiniti wants around $100 to replace this.
You can do it yourself!

oh yeah, i got new brakes at 15k, but that was a seperate job. heck no i wont take it to the dealer for a 400 dollar oil change. and im at 18k. =)

and no way on the in cabin microfilter. mine is clean.

so nobody had any fuel injection cleaning? when should i do it?

Just get some STP Fuel Injector cleaner, and run some Chevron Techron 93 octane through it for one tank. You will be fine. The car isn't old enough to need a professional fuel injector cleaning done.

Don't waste your money at 15k. Oil change and inspections. Do your own cabin filter change and your set.

 

The thing about skipping a scheduled maintenance is that if something bad happens Infiniti can say you didn't properly maintain your car.

When my engine failed one of the things they kept going back to was that I had taken my car in for every single scheduled maintenance. It was all right there in their computer. That was one thing in my favor.
