RIP Michelin PS2
#16
My tires are not stretched. Its 245 / 40 / 19 on 19 x 8.5. This is the same size I've had since 2007.
2007 - new Michelin PS2 245 40 19
2009 april - changed all 4 tires for new PS2s.
I checked my tire pressure every 2 weeks. Always 38 PSI filled. Believe me if the tire was low on pressure I would have known cuz it would have pulled.
I believe something sharp probably got lodged in the tire about 5 mins before cuz the gas station I filled up at had non paved (sandy, dirt road, unfinished road) road.
I am very **** about my car and only use the best parts for it. I don't believe in stretching tires, burnouts, drifting etc.

I've heard that armor all dries out the tires. I've never found proof but better safe than sorry.

Wow. Unreal. Michelon PS2s are one of the top tires out there, speaking from personal experience. Nothing that Bridgestone/Firestone produces even comes close.
What is the date code on your tires? Not sure if you bought them used or new, but regardless, there are a lot of shady places out there selling tires that have sat on the shelf for X years. They have a shelf life like anything else. That is a very common cause for blowouts like that.

i guarantee you 100% that damage is caused from driving on the tire with low pressure and not from a defect in the tire. I have seen it hundreds of times. a sidewall doesn't just blow out like that. Note how the tire is damaged all the way around. It really only takes a couple miles of driving on a tire with low pressure in order for that kind of damage to happen.

Well it would definitely had to be something that punctured my tire from the gas station to where the tire blew - approx 5-8 kms. The gas station attendant would have told me about low pressure if it was obvious to him.
As mentioned before I check my pressure every 2 weeks.
The tires were manufactured in 2008.
My new tires, PS3, are manufactured 12th week of 2010
