x-pipe or test pipes?

i want my next mode to be either an x-pipe or test pipe, and would like to hear opinions from you guys first, im trying to achieve exhaust note here. and possibly little less in-cabin noise (not that bad though so not a priority)

For less cabin noise with your exhaust, you should get what I got.

Magnaflow (11386 or 14386) resonated x-pipe. It will work with your exhaust. My cabin noise was about 3x as loud without the resonated x-pipe.

Test pipes will only make your exhaust louder. In fact, your exhaust isn't even "loud".

Resonated x-pipe is less than $90 shipped plus the cost of installation.

Test pipes are around $150 shipped.

Im still a noob about this, but if i'm correct, go with the x-pipe to get less drone and quieter cabin noise. Get the test pipe if you want a deeper growl.

Edit: Damn, Jairen beat me to it

oh snap, jairen u come into the sedan section? lol
so x-pipe will actually do nothing to the exhaust tone? and test pipes do? which test pipes should i get? i have seen decent ones, and i have also seen ebay branded ones.
also anything i should look into, i have seen some with 02 sensors.. others that are resonated vs un-resonated.

so if i install test pipes, will the in-cabin be louder? also does it matter what brand x-pipes they are?

Test pipes will make the exhaust sound louder and more "raw" as a whole.

The X-pipe that I mentioned is a resonated x-pipe that will greatly reduce in cabin noise as it also serves as a muffler.

so by adding test pipes, will the in-cabin noise increase since the exhaust note will increase?

You also have to deal with exhaust fumes with the test pipes...or are you talking about putting straight pipes in place of the mid-resonators on your Stillen?

no i will put test pipes, and might as well get a x-pipe to reduce in-cabin noise.

That's a regular NON RESONATED x-pipe. The one I posted above is the same thing except it's resonated which will reduce in cabin noise.

A, think you may be confused with what an x-pipe and test pipes are.

For your Stillen exhaust, you will need Magnaflow 14386 (polished) or 11386 (unpolished) and have it welded in by an exhaust shop. The optimum location for the resonated x-pipe is at the y-pipe for max tq.

EDIT: Performancepeddler.com sells them for about $90 shipped. That's where most of us order from. Enter in your offer and e-mail address and they will reply back with a price.

^ i know what a test pipe and xpipe is. didnt know about them being resonated or not.. and didnt know it would need to be welded in. but might do it regardless.. where did you do yours?

also for the test pipes, some have sensors and stuff, which one do you have?
someone is selling some Strup Test pipes, are those any good?

I only posted a picture of the resonated x-pipe in an earlier post LOL!

Yes it has to be welded in. It's not a bolt on. Any exhaust shop can do it.

No test pipes have sensors. They have bungs where you install the OEM O2 sensors. If you want test pipes, get ones with non foulers built into them which are basically O2 extensions which will prevent CEL's. Strup test pipes do not come with non-foulers built into them if I remember correctly. Megan V2 test pipes have O2 extenders built into them. For the Strup test pipes, you can buy non foulers separately. Statik sells L-shaped non foulers for around $35 shipped.

It is also wise to get a tune after installing test pipes/HFC as it may throw off the a/f ratio as it did on mine. Osiris tune took care of that.
