If there is any difference it's not noticeable, just feels the same to me, minus that noise haha

I have this issue too - it sounds like a heat shield and can be affected by shifting to N or P from D.

SO how much for all the work?

Well we didn't just replaced the tensioner that was causing the issue, we replaced all the tensioners, chains and guides, since everything was already going to be open (it's not something you want to open twice).

Parts were about $750, labour was about $1200.

I doubt you have the same problem as me. Mine was starting to do it while driving at a constant speed, very loud and noticeable. If yours sounded anything like mine did, I highly doubt you would keep driving it like that. It sounded like crap and like something was about to come apart (which it probably was eventually).

With that being said, ASSUMING the issue you're having IS the same problem as mine, it's not good to let it keep going and until it gets worse.

If the main chain starts eating into the tensioners past the plastic that it rides on, into the metal, it could damage the chain(s). If there's too much slack, the chain(s) could slip.

Any of these things combined could then cause damage to the sprockets. There's 3 sprockets. The lower one is only $75, but the 2 main sprockets on the cams are $600 EACH (I checked the price on them before we did the job just in case). I didn't need them luckily but if I did that would have changed the entire job.

Thanks for the info. I'll double check the shields and such. Mine only sounds bad at idle.

At least we don't have rubber belts and zero tolerance valve clearance.

Yeah double check everything. Honestly, if you use an automotive stethoscope you can hear if you have the same problem or not right away, just by listening on the parts of engine. That's what we used to pinpoint what was causing the sound.

This problem is definitely not something you want to leave and wait to get worse if you have it, but it's also not something you want to start attemping if it's not what's causing the problem (for obvious reasons).

Mine was doing the sound whether it was cold or warm out, so yours is probably something in the exhaust rattling.

I'm feeling better about things now LOL. Have to get that stethescope asap or I'll end up getting a new car which might be what I secretly am hoping for. I heard your sound was horrible on throttle, mine seems to be drowned out or gone on throttle. I take it your scenario is a rare one as I can't find similar situations from other members...thanks again
