Steering issue - Car wont stay straight
Lately I have been noticing on the highway that my car wont stay in a straight line. The pull or drift if you may is slight but its enough to require me to make frequent steering adjustments to keep the car straight. The car doesnt seem to favor the right or left, but both directions. Anyone else have this same issue, if so how did you cure it?
Thanks,
Luke

Re: Steering issue - Car wont stay straight
I had the same problem. I even went to an alignment shop and the problem still didn't go away. I gave up and went to the dealership. I showed them that I had an alignment and they checked my alignment and it was fine. They ended up tightening the rack and pinion in the steering and the problem went away. Try the alignment first and the air pressure first.

Re: Steering issue - Car wont stay straight
It appears that Infiniti has finally issued or should I say changed the TSB about drifting to the right to include the sedan:
ITB03028
IF YOU CONFIRM: The vehicle has a tendency for a constant drift to the right on a straight, flat road at highway speeds. NOTE: A vehicle is said to drift, if, at 60 mph: The vehicle completes a lane change in less than 7 seconds and the driver doesn't try to steer the vehicle straight and all four wheels pass into the other lane during this time (7 seconds) and the vehicle is being driven on a road with a very slight crown of less than 1% ACTIONS: Complete these steps in the following orderuntil the incident is fixed: 1. Check / adjust the tire pressure (all four tires). 2. Check the vehicle "ride height". If the vehicle ride height is uneven, perform the necessary repairs. 3. For G35 sedan only. If the tires are non-directional (seestep 6 in the service procedure), rotate the front tires side-to-side. 4. Replace the right front suspension compression rod. Use the new compression rod listed in the Parts Information. See this bulletin for further details.

Says only 2 wheel drive vehicles. Apparently G35X not affected.
