Stealer-ship: maintenance quote?!
I will never recommend taking your car to the dealer for anything other than warranty work.
You're only 17 so it's understandable that you don't know how to do this stuff on your own yet. I would suggest you learn though because it will save you boat loads of money and give you an extra sense of pride knowing that you did it yourself.
For the first time you should shop around for the parts and maybe take it to a reputable shop or someone who knows what they're doing. Between watching them and the DIY videos, you should be good to go for the future.
I learned everything I know by researching and trial & error.

Roh, follow the DIY vid just make sure you use the right fluids and buy them from Nissan not your favorite Infiniti "Stealership." (you got that one right) For your brakes, find an independent brake/alignment shop in your area. Ask your friends and neighbors where they take their cars for that kinda service. Word of Mouth is the best recommendation from individuals that feel they haven't been screwed. Never take your G35 to the dealership for anything once you find someone else to do the job at a reasonable price as long as they do an exceptional job!

I actually check both.
Every once in a while, my local Infiniti dealership surprises me by being cheaper than the Nissan place!!!
For example... Valve cover gasket:
Nissan Dealer in Panama City: ~$20
Nissan Dealer in Tallahassee: ~$26
Infiniti Dealer in Tallahassee: ~$18

I can install front pads on my G in 30 minutes. I believe book time is 1.7 hours
If you can jack up a car and take a wheel off, you can replace front pads on this car. It's one 12mm bolt on the caliper, remove it, slide the caliper up to expose the pads, pull out old pads, install new pads, open the brake fluid reservior, use a u-clamp to compress the piston back on the caliper, slide caliper back down, reinstall bolt, done.
Rotors are easy, but you need to remove two 18mm bolts that attach the caliper to the spindle. Disengage the e-brake and the rotor should slide off. If it doesn't, you'll need to tap it with a hammer to break loose the rust.
Powersteering fluid flush is a $7, 15 minute job at most.
Tranny fluid is easy, research this on the site. Most of us drain the tranny (about 3 to 4 qts) and refill. Drive 100 miles, drain and refill the tranny. Repeat again at 100 miles. Then you're good to go for 60K miles. A drain and refill takes a 19mm socket, a plastic pan, and 10 minutes of your time. The expense is the fluid. You MUST use Nissan tranny fluid and it's $7 to 10 QT. You'll need 12 QTs.
Brake fluid change, best left to Nissan, IMO. Too many people do it wrong and get air in the lines. You also need to make sure you leave the car in the "on" position to keep the ABS valves open so you get all the fluid out.

It takes me more time to jack up the car and remove the wheels then to replace the rotors and pads but it takes 2 19mm bolts in the rear to remove the caliper of the spindle in the rear and 2 22 mm bolts in the front( i used a 7/8 socket and that worked perfect couldent find a 22)
