spring suspension raising question

Hello, I currently run a g35 sport sedan with 350z unrevised springs and it currently has a pretty good flush mount look to it.

I recently changed my tires with the exact model and got an alignment and now during dips at high speeds my lip hits the outside of my tire.

This has never happened before and I changed my tires before. Sears says I'm screwed because i'm out of spec and its my fault.

Instead of arguing because i'm pretty illiterate when it comes to cars, I just want to raise my car back up. I'm having a hard time find oem springs for the sedan, but there seems to be plentiful oem coupe springs. Will this raise my car back up or do I have to look for OEM sedan springs?

I looked in the suspension forum and I saw this

Oem linear springs
G35 coupes with oem 17’s & 18’s
G35 sedan’s with sport suspension
350Z’s 2003/2004 (unrevised)
Front:314 Rear:342

Oem linear springs
G35 sedan's with non sport
Front: 283 Rear: 308

I don't know if the bottom numbers mean that the sedan non sport springs are the only ones that will raise my car and the coupe springs won't make a difference? Thanks for all your help.
Thanks for all your help.

Those numbers are spring rates and don't really have anything to do with ride height. Coupe springs should raise your car .5" and sedan springs should raise it 1".

I believe there were certain years where the 350Z and Coupe springs gave the same ride height, but someone else will need to weigh in on that.

How wide are your new tires? You may be able to switch them out or dial in more camber to avoid rubbing. A lot of people have 350Z springs with no rubbing.

The revised Z-Springs. The Rear spring is the same height as the Coupe. But the front one is the same size as the Z springs (unrevised)

Its the exact same drop as the G/Z setup people run on here.

OP Stock Sedan springs will raise you up an inch all around. Sport or not.

Don't give up on the drop just yet. Search "fender roll", that is probably all you need. Just a little rub due to Sears having dialed out some camber and new tires having a full shoulder. What width/aspect ratio are your rear tires?

What you need are called adjustable coilovers.

sears dialed in more positive camber.. thats your issue. have them dial back negative camber to prevent you from rubbing. and make sure your toe is still in spec.

Do you have a print of the alignment? if so, post it up.

I don't have the sheet right now, but it was changed from -1.94 to -1.86 and -2.1 to -1.85.

I guess thats a big enough change for my tires to rub now.........

yes it is.

I moved my wheels from 1.6-2.0 and it was a dramatic tilt.

Go to a good alignment shop or back to sears and tell them you want it at -1.94 and that you are not happy with the alignment.

Sear's job was to get it into spec. If they can not get it into spec they should get it even on both sides so the tires will wear down at the same rate. It looks to me like they did their job and its perfect.

you modded the car and your not happy with the proper alignment because you want a custom on is not a valid reason to tell them to fix it. You should pay for another alignment but in most cases they will fix it for you to shut up.

Lots of factors plays into this. The dips you hit might of rubbed on the old setup and you didn't know/noticed. Your tires are new so obviously taller. new tires are 10/32 of tread VS worn down 2/32, that 8/32 could be the part that is rubbing. lastly you added more positive camber so the rears are more close to | | than \ \.

Something you didn't tell us are wheels your running and size. I had issues rubbing on 350z springs all around on my AWD sedan but that was because i had WIDE rims, lower offset and 265/40 tires. On stock wheels 215/55 or RWD 225/45 and 245/45 you shouldn't be rubbing, now if you put spacers and etc you can rub.

I'm running 225/45 fronts and 245/45 rear. I basically put the sport coupe wheel setup on my sedan and bought the same wheels, pilot sports.......

Fixing the camber is better than raising it back up.
If you change the ride height, you're going to need an alignment again anyway, plus, you are still risking scrubbing if you hit a big dip.
