No synthetic for the Revup is right. I run cheap Penzoil with an additive. It doesn't burn as much and blow-by is minimal, and the oil retains viscosity longer than Mobil synthetic. It's better overall.

Only thing my manual says about Synthetic is "Do not add synthetic brake fluid"

Nothing about engine oil.

It also says "INFINITI recommends mineral based oils."

Recommends does not mean its the best. Any how Syntec and Edge which I use are 70% or so Highly refined mineral oils.

Not like brake fluid flows freely through the ground

Sure it does. It's a byproduct of the oil sands production up in Alberta. Can't believe you didn't know that.

"Synthetic brake fluid refers to, typically, brake fluid made out of some silicone substance. Most brake fluids are mineral based, which is typically what is sold. The argument can be made that all brake fluids are synthetic, but when brake fluid is called synthetic, that means it is silicone based."

my g came with dot 3 non-synthetic and i flushed it with dot 4 synthetic about a year ago

Lucas. It's some good stuff. I swear the motor spins easier with that stuff.

I don't remember the owner's manual saying anything about synthetic, but I DO remember it specifically recommended against oil additives.
Then again, I know some people swear by lucas, and I've never seen it turn oil frothy... IDK, I don't mess with it anymore.

^ Yea it turns any fluid frothy, which is horrible. Check the link I posted. I wonder if these people who put oil additives ever do a UOA....

And no where does the owners manual say not to use Synthetic Oil, just recommends to use Mineral based oils.

I've already seen that link.
But at the same time, I've used lucas in the motor oil on one of my Trans-Ams before, and it didn't turn frothy in the least. I checked it right after running the engine for a while too, so it's not like it settled out.
My cousin also ran lucas in his truck's automatic transmission, and again, checking the fluid right after driving, with the truck running in park, zero froth.

IDK, like I said, I don't have any reason to put anything 'extra' in the oil that's outside the engine's design spec. But at the same time, I have to kindof question the test they did.

^ did you do a UOA that suggests an interval at 3K? If not, why the frequency.
