Noob favorite part sources

I want to give my future son in-law a "tune-up" for his 2003 G35 sedan for Christmas. I'm a car guy but I don't have a lot of experience with Nissan. Is there some favorite on-line shopping spots? Or some brands you recommend? I'm thinking plugs, pcv valve, belts, fuel filter, primary ignition wire. Anything else I should add.

Thanks for any help you can give me. 'tis the season.

You're a good father-in-law! Is he a car guy? If you think he'll appreciate it, go ahead and splurge for the NGK Iridium plugs...$50 shipped from a vendor on here which is a good price. Here's the link https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...ep-colder.html

The other stuff I would probably just pick up at your favorite local parts store. Mostly the same brands that you're already familiar with. Gates or Goodyear for the belts. I never hear much about the PCV on these engines. Shouldn't need any ignition wires replaced (distributorless with coil packs). Again, if he would appreciate the difference, I would pick up a K&N air filter that fits in the stock airbox...about $50 and adds a little growl and maybe a HP or two. AutoZone stocks them I know.

So if it were me, I would do the NGK Iridiums and the K&N air filter for sure and then inspect belts and replace only if necessary. Merry Christmas! And do you need another son-in-law?

Definitely go with the Goodyear belts and I'd also recommend the K&N drop in filter. And, whatever you do, DO NOT get anything other than NGK plugs for his infiniti! Auto parts people like to push their "equivalents" but in this case, there is no such thing.
Good luck and good looking out (for your son-in-law).

PCV = $12 @ the dealership
Get the Gator Belts @ any auto shop - you need to make sure you get the right sizes. There are 2 different sizes for 2003 G35 sedans - early build dates have different sizes. These also have the "doggy door" trunk lid

www.infinitipartsonline.com is the site i buy most OEM stuff from

I'd go with the NGK Iridium or Platinum(OEM) spark plugs

No need for wires - we have ignition coils

No fuel filter

Here's a quick tip on figuring out what belt size you need:

Look at the trunklid.

If it has a handle in the middle like this:

Then it's an early 03 (03.0)

If not, it's a late 03 (03.5)

A lot of parts houses won't list the belts as "early" and "late" but just write down both part numbers, and then have them look up an 04. An 04 has the same belt as the 03.5, so by process of elimination, the other part number is for the 03.0

Thanks for all the help. We did the Injen intake last year. Looks and sounds great. I'll get the plugs, pcv and belts. What about hoses and oxygen sensors? I think he is around 80k.

These should be fine for now. I'd consider doing a trans fluid drain/fill like mentioned above.
