Best advice for removing smoked out head/tail lights?

Have heard paint thinner does the trick but seems hazardous.....any other recommendations or is this the best choice?

Your better off just trading them. Why overlays > Paint imo

i'm actually good with my tails...it compliments well. I got my heads lightly smoked and i'm just over it now lost a little brightness. Found a spot that charges 40 bucks to wipe it off but seems dumb to pay for

realize that once you sand it down you will need to continue to buff/polish it often because it will oxidize much faster now

^^ shouldnt have to as long as you maintain it properly and seal it every so often.. I would say seal every month or every other month. and it should stay clean.

or, you could always wetsand with 1000, then shoot a couple coats of automotive clear...that'll seal it up nicely and maintain them perfectly for years to come, just make sure to use a quality clear...i have done this many times (working at a body shop)

I bet the 3M headlight restore kit would take it off.

You might even be able to find some kid willing to even trade for your headlights.

Id start at 800 then work my way up to 2000 with finer papers then finish with 3000 and buff.
