Gas Mileage Worse????

On Saturday before the track I put on a Pop Charger on and felt like the car was running awesome, sound was amazing on it and I felt a little gain from it but I have notice the past few days of driving back and fourth from work that I have been burning through gas. I used 91 and I filled her up on Sunday and have drove 107 miles and I am already at half a tank of gas. I feel like my gas mileage has dropped alot. Any suggestions why this would happen?

I hear a lot of heat soak issues with the pop charger. That could possibly one of the many factors of bad gas mileage.

You're having too much fun driving your car. This causes the right foot to increase in mass leading to poor gas milage

Yeah I just didnt know if more air flow would cause more fuel to flow but you are always told that a CAI or pop charger will give you better gas mileage.

The needle is sometimes very inaccurate. Start noting your mileage and how many gallons when in, then calculate your MPG.

causes:

foot to pedal
sound of intake causing foot to pedal
winter gas
sounds good when foot to pedal.

+1 you need a REAL proven method of calculating MPG first. most likely its you putting pushing the pedal more tho.

Well I knew the need was always off because even when I would fill up all the way it would tell me a was not full but I feel like after only drive 100+ miles close to half a tank of gas was gone it was thinking it was odd. But maybe everyone is right I am just pushing the pedal more now since I just added the new mod.

I think my CAI probably caused my mileage to drop a little.

Mostly though, my right foot has the biggest effect on mileage

And an awesome sounding intake doesn't help that whole 'right foot' problem either

Im at 98miles and the needle is 1 mark below half right now.

But on the highways during summer I averaged between 360-420 miles depending on the speed i drove.

Its normal for the G to give less mileage.

I live in arizona so maybe the winter gas out here is not very friendly to G's. During the summer I get awesome gas mileage. My GF's M35 is not getting good gas mileage either. She is only getting around 300 a tank and she drives mostly freeway.

Have you reset the ECU?

If not, your fuel controller isn't giving the optimal AF ratio for good mileage.

yeah mine has taken a nose dive in these teen-20's degree days. I think the combination of loving the sound + cooler temps has a big impact. If you get a plenum spacer with iso thermal, the incoming air in the winter is even colder, resulting in even worse gas mileage.. The upside is the car should be considerably faster in colder temps...

How do you do a basic ECU reset so my AF ratio resets so my gas mileage can come back up?
