Disconnecting the MAF Sensor

I was wondering if any codes would pop up if I disconnected the MAF sensor without disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery. Doing this since I need to change my thermostat.

As long as you don't start the engine w/ it disconnected. I do this all the time.
