Fob programming problems

so i purchased a Flip style key and key fob from midwest key for a 2005 infiniti g35x. Im trying to program the fob and no matter what i do i cannot get the damn thing programmed. I have followed all the instructions and have been trying and trying for quite a while. Im not sure if my car is equipped with the intelligent key (i just bought the car used and only came with a key, no fob or remote) but will having the intelligent key system prevent me from programming the fob ?

They are independant. When your intelligent key stops working you'll know it. Solid red sucurity light and car won't start. What happens when you follow the programming steps? Can you atleast get the vehicle park and hazards to flash after the key insertion 6 times with in 10 seconds?

Step 1

Close all doors and lock them using the lock button on the DOOR.

Step 2

Insert and remove the key from the ignition 7-10 times till the hazard lights flash. Do not rush this process and make sure that key is inserted and removed completely everytime.

Step 3

Insert key on ignition key cylinder and turn ignition key switch to "AAC" position. Now the system is accepting "new" codes and all the previous codes will be deleted. Press LOCK button on the remote now. Hazard lamp will flash once.

Step 4 - Programming More Than One Remote

Unlock & Lock the doors using the power lock button on the door (Not the Remote). Now Hit LOCK button on the 2nd Remote.

Repeat this process for upto 4 remotes.

Step 5

Remove key from ignition.

Step 6

Unlock driver side door, open drive side door and then close the door.

At this point you should have working remotes!

I have tried with trunk popped too. I can't ge my car to recognize any buttons i push on the remote. Don't know if the smart entry control unit or bcm is bad, but i will find out this week when I get home.
