If you guys notice, if you put the key in the ignition and turn it half way (without starting the engine) all the lights come on in the dash. One light says "AWD." I've had the car since the summer and have not seen that light come on once. What does it mean? Is my AWD functioning properly?

I believe that light will illuminate if there is a problem with the AWD system. It should normally be off. Think of it as a "check engine" light, but for the AWD system.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Does the light stay on during driving? I always see it iluminate when I am going to turn on the car, but it shouldn't stay on at any stage. It can't hurt to get it checked.

What do you mean? I turn the key just before igniton and all of the lights come on..AWD, Service engine soon , Etc... If it's on continuously while you're driving get it checked out.

 

Ok, so the general consesus is that if the light is on while I am driving, there is a problem, like the SES light. Thanks.
