Red & White Sedans

Are red and white the least popular exterior colors on a sedan? You don't see many on the streets. I saw a red one for the first time and thought it was the most classy looking of all the colors. It is a burgandy red - different than the coupe. It almost made me want to switch my black sedan. The red looked a lot classier but not as sporty. This is surprising as black usually looks classy and red sporty. I like black but you can see the dust after an hour of cleaning it. Dirt really shows. I thought the white sedan looked nice too. However, red is the only color that gives me 2nd thoughts about choosing black.

Actually, I see a good amount of white sedans in my area [Southern CA], so I don't think white is that unpopular. As for the red color... I would agree that I do not see too many sedans in that color, nor the dark blue. I believe that Brilliant Silver and Diamond Graphite are the most popular colors - hey even my sedan is DG...

I've got a black sedan and I also know what you mean about showing the dirt so easily. I really like the red too. If I had my choice though, I'd like to have my sedan a brighter red, kinda like a candyapple red. I've always liked that shade of red on a nice sporty car.

I have an emerald mist sedan. When i saw it in the dealership I was DONE. I have the willow interior and I think its a wonderful combination. I recieve a great deal of compliments when I park car. I have only seen a very few emerald mist sedans. Infiniti discontinued it as well. Too bad. I don't see too many red sedans. I do see a fair number of white, I think a silver is the most popular.

Long live the Green Machine

Re: Red & White Sedans

I didn't know G35 had an emerald. Like the red sedan, I am guessing emerald would lean towards the upscale luxurious look. No contention. It is a great look on this car! G35's image is sports luxury. After seeing the red, I think of class and elegance.

Canuck - I agree that candy apple red would look awesome! It would be very sporty looking. The paint is expensive though. I believe it is something like 5 or 7 stages! For comparison, most cars are 2 stages. Pearl is 3 stages. For this reason, I don't think many cars offer it as original paint.

If the laser red was available on the sedans like it is on the coupes, that would be my first choice. To me, that would looke very nice.....

I totally agree about the Black showing dirt and dust easily. Specially over here when they use salt for winter you get a gray cover all over the car in a matter of an hour driving.

I think the white is a great color, I'm getting a 2005 in a few weeks and I'm split between black and white. I love my black '04 with graphite interior but I feel white will do much better in regards to dirt and also I feel it's pretty hadnsome too.

It's the same here. I work with a guy who has a white one but I usually never see white or red ones around town. The other day @ the gas station, someone asked me if I had gotten a custom paint job.

I bought the red because of the uniqueness.

Re: Red & White Sedans

I bought my red G35 Sedan within the first two weeks the car was introduced. I saw the red and had to have it. While at the dealer, my 5 year old daughter came around the corner to take me to her favorite car, and stated that's the one I should buy. She took me straight to the red one I had picked out. To this day, we tell everyone she picked out the car.

I had some mods done, but my favorite has to be painting the skirts red to match the car. That alone makes the car look lower and longer.

I am also in SoCal, and hardly ever see a red G sedan.

I own a white Sedan and love it. If you go with white, you have to get the full aero package, it really sets it apart from all others, plus gives it a lower profile and sportier look. As for black, I've owned two black cars and although I liked them it was a pain to keep them clean.

Tall G35. I like what you did with the paint. I was hit from behind and have to have my bumper worked on and repainted. I'll see what it costs to paint all the rest of it at the same time.

Re: Red & White Sedans

I paid around $600 to have the paint work done. That included R&R of the front and rear bumpers, license plate cover, and the side skirts, plus paint and clearcoat for all parts. They repainted the entire front and rear bumpers, not just the bottoms. The Garnet Red Fire is a 3 stage paint, which is more expensive and more difficult to paint.
