Question Strange noise inside the car

What's up everyone. I've got this strange high pitch noise that happens occasionally inside the car. I notice when the noise happens, the turn signal chime doesn't sound when the signal is activated. When I take the key out of the ignition, the high pitched sound occurs. Any ideas what is causing it? I took a crappy iPhone video to somewhat capture the sound.

That's a first! Where does it sound like it's coming from? Can you hear it outside of the car? Is it coming from the speakers?

+1 for checking speakers, but it almost sounds like pressure releasing too. Is the AC/heat on while it makes that noise?

Josh, that is sketchy. Your G needs to quit communicating with mine and getting ideas for bad noises haha

Maybe I'm just hearing things, but when the key is in the ignition with the car off and the hood up, I swear I can hear a faint high pitched sound almost like that "Mosquito" ringtone the old folks can't hear. Again, I don't know if I'm actually hearing it nor if this is at all related to the OP's question but thought I should share...

^If it is a very high frequency sound, that might just be the fuel lines being primed.

AARONHL, the sound seems to be coming from the front of the dash board, near the windshield air vent. You can't hear the sound outside the car, only inside. I double cheaked, sound is not coming from the speakers. X-Factor, the sound is still there even when the Heat/AC is off. Janik, our cars do seem to be making strange sounds now and then! Probably your car talking to mine. GreenPenguin, the sound my car makes is non-stop. Happens when the car is running, or when it is turned off. Thanks for trying to help though.

Could it be coming from the same mechanism as the tire pressure warning noise?

^Hmmm, I don't know. I don't have the tire pressure monitoring system. I've got an 03 G. What mechanism makes the tire pressure warning noise?

I have no idea, but it sounds seems like it comes from the dash area...
