Won't this also make VDC go nuts? I thought if you wig the computer out like that it kills CC and VDC goes crazy trying to keep the car under control.

Can you swap your front and rear tires without rubbing?
I know the widths will be all wrong, but at least youll know if thats the problem

Swapping front to back will be a waste of time. His rears are not smaller than his fronts. He claims 225/45 front 245/45 rear. His variance between sizes is pushing it @ 2.7% in a Sedan. The sedan computer wants to see a 26.3" tire all around. Something close to that diameter or with stagger fit, something less than 2.0% variance might fly. Putting 245/45's all around should be enough to solve this problem.

Let the machine do the math for you -- attached. There is nothing quite like having real numbers.

This is a common issue for some people when going from a 3.3 FD to 3.5. It is what happens to me ONLY when i exceed 85 mph during my driving period.

This code simply prevents the ECU from allowing Cruise Control to be set.

If I get up to speed and just set the cruise at 80-83 mph everything works fine. There are no issues from this code other than the CC.

If you are like me (early 2003) then tire size really isn't the problem. Its the way the speed sensors in the trans and FD get compared in the TCM.

Although i trip the P1574 when i go over 85 mph, it always resets after i turn the car off and doesn't affect me the next time i drive if i want to use my CC - and it NEVER turns the CEL on with that code.

This issue was long discussed in the Drivetrain section in a 20+ page thread.

Later years have a different TCM which may not compare both speed sensor inputs - just goes off transmission speed for CC and diff speed for Speedometer. Most likely just one of the many things that was changed after they made the early 2003. LOL

Wait, sorry
Disregard my advice on swapping the front and rear tires. I looked at the post wrong. You already have the larger diameter tires in the back.
