Blown Sub..

Looking to replace the sub with an aftermarket one.

What OHM is the stock sub?

I now have another question as I have searched the FSM and could not locate some wires.

G35 Sedan's with the Bose package have 2 amplifiers.

One that comes from the headunit to the Bose AMP, then to a small amp hidden under the subwoofer.

These are the cables that go to that amp.

Orange is Power
Black is Ground
Blue is Remote

No idea what the other two accomplish.

All these wires go to the small amp, and then come out as red and green.

 

I will have to check tomorrow. I bypassed my amp, so I will see if I can recall the other two wires. It has been a while since I messed with that stuff.

Sedans with Bose only have one dinky amp under the rear shelf, the hu outputs are balanced preamp outputs. I dont remember what those other wires are but if you are keeping the stock amp, what would it matter?
If your replacing the amp, you only need those wires (for a LOC), and then have to tap into the preamp wires in the other wiring harness under the rear shelf and run new power wires for a new amp.

 

Precisely what I did...


I tapped into the rear door speakers and used that as a signal for the new amp.


Now the car has 2 12's. and a 1200watt MA Audio Amp.

Perfect sound.
