Trunk arm lift broken....where to find a replacement :( - Pics inside

Hey folks.

So it was -31C outside today and I was closing my trunk as usual but it sounded somewhat off.
After a few tried the trunk arm on the left side just snapped in two.
I think its due to the ice build up under the arm and extremely low temperatures that caused it.

Pictures below:

Right side:

I've been quoted a high price for each side by the Canadian dealership - no surprise there.
(need the right side one also as that is completely missing)

So where can I buy a used or cheaper part.

Anyone replaced one of the before?
I take the labor isn't going to take too much though.

What are your thoughts.
Thanks.

Look here
http://infinitipartsonline.com/

Shipping to Canada is typically expensive though

Thanks for the link.

While signing up with them I cant see the option for shipping to Canada?

what gives?

EDIT: had to call it in and got the parts shipped to my family in NY.
total for 2 sides is $266.20 plus $10 shipping to NY state.

Those are just struts and are pretty commonly used on hatchbacks, hoods, trunks, etc. Why not just check a local autoparts store?

Hi.

I checked Partsource, NAPA and Piston ring which are the main local autoparts stores here and none of them have it.

all of them recommended a wrecker or a dealership.
1 advised me to get parts from the US (like g35papa's link)

One person on the phone mentioned Monroe and Strong arm as the manufacturers for parts like this.
Anyone know anything about that.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far.

Hi thanks for the offer but i need a pair.

Its so cold out here that putting stress on the single lift arm is going to snap it again so that is why i need a pair.

Wonder if anyone else has one. hmmmm

If heist doesn't have his anymore, let me know. I think I have an extra pair at home. I was going to keep them for when mine go out one day but, that may be a long time from now

I had no idea they cost so much

Yes I PM'd Heist. Haven't received a reply back yet.

I placed an order with infiniti parts online but I can cancel it tomorrow by calling in first thing in the morning.
