Flipped and wrecked my '06 G35X

I haven't been on here in a while. Honestly my car has been trouble free. My G35 that I bought used two years ago is wrecked. I haven't broken down yet and had a good hard cry but I want to and will soon because I almost died. Friday night I was on the highway here in MA doing about 75 on what seemed like a dry highway (I have a lead foot). Front end started swaying like I was losing control so instead of panicking and hitting the brake I let off the gas and still it wouldn't correct itself, it kept front fishtailing. I then gave it some brake but too late, car was sledding. Not sure if I hit black ice or if it was a freak thing. I've done 90+ on the highway on dry road with no issue EVER. Anyway I hit a snowbank on the right which caused the car to completely roll up on the snowbank like a skateboard ramp, then it flipped upside down and landed back on all 4 wheels. I was facing the wrong side of the highway with nothing but headlights of oncoming traffic staring at me. Thank God they all stopped and let it happen so I didn't hit anyone and no one hit me. We had our seat belts on. I was disoriented when I saw the headlights glaring at me and I banged a fast u-turn, threw on my hazards driving at 40 MPH and the car drove away with no flat tires but a boatload of damage, no back windshield, front windshield shattered but intact and stuff hanging all off the front. I drove the car home (about 5 miles away from the accident scene) and it's now getting towed tomorrow by my insurance company. They haven't even seen it, they just know it rolled so they said to overnight the title to them. I put a deposit on a 2007 G35X. I have to tell you that '06 G35X saved my life. My passenger and I walked away from that wreck without a scratch. The doors didn't buckle at all. We could have died. I was going to buy another exact '06 but I'm buying the 2007 G35X for the bells and whistles my '06 doesn't have. I am very lucky to be alive and uninjured. The only thing I notice weird is the steering wheel on the '07 feels fatter, not too comfy on my hands. Hope I get used to it. Just wanted to share how much that car was ***** to the walls protecting me and my friend. WE COULD HAVE DIED. Mary in Boston

Wow, what a horrific event! So glad you and your friend are alive and uninjured. You won't regret the 07, I did notice the fatter steering wheel but I totally got used to it rather quickly. It seems to fit the horsepower

Not sure what you mean by it shutting off??

Thanks, not sure but the tires were beefy in my opinion. I only put 22K miles on them when they were new.

^ When an accident is detected the car is suppose to cut fuel. But since no air bags went off, which is odd in its self since the car flipped over and slammed into a few things.

But your safe, so thats what matters.

Did you have VDC on?

Eek, sorry to sound so stupid but I hadn't turned anything on, and when I got home I noticed the VDC light came on and is stuck on. Won't shut off. Does that tell you anything?

Well it should be on 100% of the time unless you turn it off, did you hear like the ABS pulsating at the different wheels?

Its alright, jw

Sorry to hear what happened. I'm glad you and your friend are okay though. VDC turns on automatically every time you start the car. It should have been on unless you turned it off yourself.

vdc, other safety systems dont work on black ice or ice or snow for that matter. try it in an empty parking lot for yourself.

glad to hear you are alive. we have same g35x and are thinking about getting newer version
