Trunk problem. Help!

Hi. I'm a G newbie. Just got my 03 sedan 5AT a week ago. When my keys are in the ignition I don't know how to open the trunk unless I turn the at off, take the key out and press the trunk release.(key fop doesn't work when in ignition) this is pretty annoying. To my knowlege there's no trunk release in the car and I am used to that method. So My question is pretty much how an i open te trunk while the car is running. I'm sure this is a newbie question. Please help me out.

there is a button in the glove box if you have the doggy door press it off, its for a valet button
otherwise if its an 03.5 there is a trunk open button bottom left of steering wheel where the vdc light is

I tried turning the switch off on the glove box and then opening the trunk while the cars running. Doesn't work. Also tried doing this while the switch is on. Doesn't open.

I didnt try the key fob because I figured it wouldn't work while in the ignition as usual. I will try that next then after I flip the glow box switch

Are you trying to open the trunk while the car is in gear? I have to double check my car, but I think that if the key is in the ignition and the car is running, I cannot use the trunk button to open the trunk unless the e-brake is engaged. I have a 6MT though...
