Does a remote starter screw up smart key igniton?
I am trying to buy an '07 or '08 G35X with a remote starter. One dealer said they would put it in for me. Another one said we don't do remote starters with a smart key ignition because they cause too many electrical problems. Can anyone confirm whether or not it's true that a remote starter is not a good idea on an '07 or '08 G35X? Need replies ASAP because I'm trying to make a deal on a car today.
Thanks!

you do anything to any car. It all depends on the skill of that person.
Its like saying you can swap an engine but the guy down the block can.
Its been done, its not an easy install. Everyone wants to do easy work and not hard work. So some people just tell you they cant do it rather then say they DONT want to try.
Your push button ing is the same as our turn **** in the first gen

Yeah, what the dealer was saying was if someone doesn't install the remote starter correctly it really messes up the electrical system. He seemed pretty confident that the place they use are good so I am going to go with installing it. Here in Boston winter is COLD and summer is HOT. Getting that heat or A/C going for a few mins ahead of time is a must for me.
The dealer who speaks that MIGHT be true OR he might try to sway you from going elsewhere as well. He has 2 motives here.
There is a module to make most things plug and play. Module cost about $80, when installers use this it seems flawless. When they try to pocket that $80 and do their own wiring thats when they often FAIL.
I dont do the installs but ive seen and spoke to guys that do. I have a decent amount of automotive knowledge to understand why some FAIL.

we do about 40% of the cars with remote start from the dealership...
I've seen some half *** systems that turn off when you get into the car, and you need to restart it.
Ours starts up w/ the heated seats and climate control, hop in w/ the intelligent key, and just drive away.
