350Z Tein H-Tech, Before & After Pictures

I have recently finished installing the 350Z Tein H-Tech springs on my sedan. The install took just over four hours and was not that difficult. After two days and a four-wheel alignment, the over drop each corner was one inch. With resept to the alignment, the aligment shop was able to bring the rear back to factory specs. Because the camber is non-adjustable in the front they were not able to adjust the front camber--so now I am at 7/8 of a degree negative camber, which will help the handling. The overall ride quality did not change that much. Please keep in mind that I had the sport suspension to start with. So far I am really pleased with the drop, ride quality, and the handling.

The first three pictures posted below (I hope) are before and the rest are after.

Nice...did you notice any difference in increase of understeer.
From reasearching, these springs are supposed to increase the understeer for our cars, just wondering if it's occuring on yours.

Thanks
mike

Re: 350Z Tein H-Tech, Before & After Pictures

Mike, it is my understanding that the 350Z H-Tech springs, as compared the the G35 H-Tech springs, actually reduce the understeer because of the stiffer spring rate. Since I have installed the 350Z springs, I have noticed an increased propsensity for oversteer--especially with the VDC turned off.

Hmmm...I was going on Gsedan35's post regarding springs...I've been doing alot of looking. and he has alot of posts.

https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...view=&sb=&vc=1
Go about midway down and he shows a chart about the Tein springs.

I'm not sure if the difference would ever be felt, unless you plan on doing any autocrossing.

But I definitely like the drop, not too much but just enough. I am planning on going with the 350Z suspesion setup for the drop and added handling.

Thanks
mike

Re: 350Z Tein H-Tech, Before & After Pictures

Mike compare the H-Tech for the 350Z to the H-Tech for the G35. The softer H-Tech spring for the G35 will create the increased understear. That is why I used the 350Z H-Tech springs. I pulled the data below from the link you provided.

Tein H-tech G35 coupe & sedan
324/260 vs. oem F+ 5% R-22%
Transfers +27% roll stiffness to front

Tein H-tech 350z
358/375 F+14% R+11%
Transfers +3% rollstiffness to front

Let me know if I am missing something here.

Tom

Ahhhhh....i see now....my mistake.
Well that seems better

When you had your 4 wheel alignment done, what specs did you go by? coupe, sedan or 350z?

thanks
mike

I had the aligment shop go with the sedan specs.

Verrrry nice !!

This is my next planned mod -- good to get some feedback

I installed Hotchkis sways last month and these springs would give me the final desired handling.
