lol! i know huh! ima start with the end mount strut. but i will inspect the area before ordering it, ima need grant to do it since i dont have a spring compressor if its nothing that i can see, i will start with the mount then endlinks.
the only reason i dont think it is the endlink is because i replaced mine just a couple days before this thread was made. but it was replaced with a used one so that one might have been bad. i dont know
Yeah I hope something is the solution. My endlinks arrive next Tuesday so I wont get to it until then. I have read various threads saying those little things make clunking noises when worn. They are a wear item and should be replaced anyway...and im sure aftermarket sways speed up wear and tear.

so my suspension compartment looks clean just checked it out.. nothing is out of order. so i will have grant do my install on the mount strut. i do not have aftermarket sways, i do have sport coupe sways. if its not the strut mount, then might be the endlinks.
I've replaced the endlinks as well as the shock mounts.
When the end links go bad they make a popping sound and its normally when the vehicle is off-kilt, meaning one wheel is higher than the other and putting stress on the endlink. You dont hear the front endlinks make noise if both wheels are going over the same bump.
The shock mounts you will hear under normal driving. You may not see/feel any real major bump but even still the mount will make noise. This is a way to isolate. Also, the noise happens repeatedly where the endlinks will happen once in a while.

I have the same problem. Front end driver side clunking when going over bumps and such. But also, when I start braking it makes that same clunking sound as well. It's weird, if I brake lightly it will make that sound. If brake "harder" than normal it doesn't make that sound. The sound started quite a while ago and would only be slightly audible when going over bumps, over time now it happens while braking as well. It seems also if I'm turning left and go over a rough patch or bump it's even louder. My lower control arm bushings are shot, about to order them but I wish there was a definite solution to this. Sound is embarrassing.

well yesterday i got my strut mount, im hoping to get it done sometime next week. i will let you all know what it turns out to be... as of right now im starting to think its the endlinks.. when going over some really bad roads... the clunk goes "away" and what i get seems to be a weird sound.... like if it was "wobbling" but i will see.

Oh well...I guess the next step is a new strut mount. Probably will do new struts and shocks too while I'm at it since I have 72K on my original sport suspension.
