I did a drain and fill at 60K for peace of mind. It was easy and didn't take long.

What? It took me almost six hours. Then another day tweaking.

I used a Lisle funnel, with the front end jacked up. It took about six heat cycles to stop the gurgling in the heater core.

have your coolant tested next time you get your oil changed. If its dirty at all or tests bad have it flushed..........easy as that

ima be taking the car for 60k service.. i have done stuff before, like i did the differential already, did the tranny flush too. and i think those are main ones for 60k. so just wanna see what else they wanna "sell" me

if the coolant isnt bad im not going to mess with it.

lol so people do it the easy way and some do it their own ways.

a drain and fill should take about 30minutes to an hour. A whole flush using a flushing liquid should take me about 60-90 minutes to fully finish. Never had it go longer then that. Did this on about 8 cars now.

to the OP i'm doing a drain and fill with PEAK lifetime fluid when i hit 60k, i'm at 54k now. Took care of front/rear diff. all filters. T-case. and AT. at 60k i'll do brakes/coolant/PS and plugs. maybe 2 belts as well.

thats really all thats needed for the car, most things are overkill.

I did a series of drain/fill with distilled water unless only water was coming out. Took 6 drains (90 min or so) then I filled the radiator up with 100% coolant.

In total the coolant system holds about 2.5 gallons - I added just a little over 1 gallon of coolant into the system for a 40/60 mixture. Since I don't have to worry about sub-zero temps here in the desert that is about perfect for what I want.

Coolant should be flushed every 5 years though - at least with the fluid that came in the car.

I'll admit, I've never replaced the coolant on my 03 G. The car now has 88K miles. I test it every 6 months and is always well within spec. The coolant is still a nice clear lime green too. I know I should replace it soon. With my last VQ car (96 Maxima), all I did was drain the radiator at 80K miles and called it good. The car never had an issue with overheating over it's 117K miles of use.

Well, for me I replaced my coolant at 30K than again several months ago which was at 60K. Doesn't the manual states that you have to change coolant every 30K miles?
