Re: 05 G35 Sedan's are in @ Miller Infiniti

Ok, let me address your first statement. If I took your approach, I would be saying things like..."Wow, I can't wait for my 05 sedan. The 04 was ugly and this sucked and that sucked. Thank god they fixed that."

I did point out faults of the 04, but mostly in retaliation for your hateful comments. I think the 04 is a GREAT car! I'd be driving one right now if it wasn't for some financial circumstances last year which prohibited me from doing so.

I'll be honest with you, when I saw the very first exterior picture that Infiniti released of the 05, I was like..."bleh, wtf is that? Something is wrong, but I can't put my finger on it".

But you know what, it is what it was -- a BAD picture!

Have you visited the japanese Nissan Skyline site? If not, check it out. Then tell me how they messed up the exterior. The sedan and coupe look VERY similar now. From the front, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference. Yet you love the coupe but hate the sedan. Maybe you're blinded because you love the look of your sedan so much that you disapprove of any changes -- for better or worse.

I agree, more weight is not a good thing, and I was disappointed when the curb weight statistics were revealed. But, I do think that the numbers are just estimates. The coupe and sedan 6MTs weigh exactly the same according to the new specs. I highly doubt that they do. Even still, it's about 100 lbs heavier. Big deal. I'll take on 100 lbs for an extra 38 horsepower. Do the math and figure out what a great horsepower/weight ratio gain that is. It's the equivalent of a 3000 lb car with 1140 horsepower!

Also, you seem to be ignorant to many of the other improvements of the 05. Tell me the following are disappointments:

1.) larger disc brakes

2.) triple cone synchros on 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear for smoother shifting.

3.) larger nav screen with power up & down.

4.) Increased redline on the 6MT.

5.) Aluminum pedals.

6.) More supportive driver's seat with higher quality leather (you should be all over this one, since you went on and on about the uncomfortable seats).

btw, just because you own a G35 doesn't exempt you from being a flamer. Your comments on these threads do little more than pick fights with 05 owners and soon-to-be owners.

Re: 05 G35 Sedan's are in @ Miller Infiniti

I guess flaming is all in the eye of the beholder. I haven't suggested that anyone get therapy just because they disagree with my opinion of the '05 vs. '03 and '04. I haven't called you ignorant, either, as you have me. I have pretty much avoided personal attacks, unless you count my mild humorous response to Vsix's snide remarks.

I have been a member of many forums and have yet to be banned from any of them. Guess I am glad you haven't been a mod on any of them. : )

DB, You Have made negative comments about the '04 and '03's, but that is ok. You are entitled to your opinion. It doesn't offend me that you like the '05 more, it just amuses me that it upsets you so badly that I really don't care for a number of the '05 changes. Seems a bit insecure to me. ; )

As I have stated in other threads, there are things to like about the '05, and in various threads I have mentioned the nicer dash plastics, the larger navi screen, the added ponies, the MP3 capability, and the real aluminum trim. As far as larger rotors - my brakes are outstanding so I didn't see a need for a change there UNLESS it will increase brakepad life without diminishing braking power. That has remains to be seen.

I have also been very firm in how much I dislike the exterior style changes, and given the reasons for that dislike. The sedan front is narrower than the coupe, and the old front simply looked better. I, for one, LIKED that the coupe and sedan each had a more distinct personality. I have seen dozens of pics of the new taillights, and they are so "me too" round like everybody elses. I much prefer the old style rear lighting. As commented on by another poster - they are very distinctive. I do not like the round dash controls, they are out of sync with the rest of the dash. I do not like losing the cassette deck - I have some stuff you can't get on CD, though I could record it to my hard drive and then burn it to disc, that is more trouble than I care to go to. I (and a number of others) don't like the new A/T shifter/boot/plate - too feminine for my taste. I also don't like the clock in the middle of the digital readout panel - it just looks dumb and out of place there. Please, don't mix digital and analog in such close quarters. I have commented that the new guages MAY look better when lighted. I certainly hope so, because unlighted they just don't cut it for me at all. I do not care for the added weight. Your theory of hp/weight equivilency is laughable, and wiser heads than mine have commented that the real world difference in straightline performance will be minimal. I think they upgraded the suspension for '05, so maybe the extra weight won't hurt handling - I just don't know for sure.

At any rate, I think we both know where we stand on this debate.....You have a nice night DB.

He wasn't actually calling you ignorant, IMO, just saying ignorant to those facts is all. And his "negative" comments about the '03-'04. weren't his opinions if you read that again, you'll see that! I think what has bugged folks here, isn't your opinion of the "05, everyone is entitled to their own of course, it's just the way you approached it here, almost like you were trying to talk everyone into your way of seeing it! I got some crap from one of the posters in the seat thread because I posted that my seat was fine, like "we don't want to hear it if it's fine, it might screw up our BS here".

Calling someone ignorant is not a personal attack. Look up the word in the dictionary, and you'll understand why.

Let's get 1 thing str8, I'm not debating your right to have an opinion on the exterior styling. Styling IS subjective after all. I CAN debate my opinion vs. yours however. That's fine. Let's leave it at that. But, there is one FACT that you can't deny: most (if not all) people who posted on this forum (and other forums) who have actually seen the 05 in person say it's an improvement over the previous model. Now, I'm talking exterior styling only. With that said, you're in the vast minority. Feel proud to walk the streets with your 250 lb girlfriend on your arm, for you're probably the only one who thinks she's beautiful. Hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?

My theory on hp/weight equivalency is not a theory, it's a fact. Anyone who passed 5th grade math would know.

And btw, they did beef up the suspension components, including larger diameter sway bars.

It's not limited to the G, if you trade any vehicle in, you get much less than it's retail value!

It might be worth your while to try selling it on your own...That is WAAAAY below the private party sale value. KBB has you at 30,020 dollars. I used the "good" condition rating.

Seeing how Infiniti's not releasing any 6MTs until January, and I'm on the East Coast...

...no.

GeeSpot,
Well, okay, that works, but why didn't you just use these little icons, I think the others tend to get overlooked here.
