Want to go upper class with Stereo

I have an 03 G and already have some great sounding JL subs in JL enclosure with JL amp. I am inquiring to see who has experience with any nice door speakers and what fits good. I dont want to see the speakers but want great sound. I am going to put a Double Din head unit in (still undecided) but was looking at the Focal K2 Power 165KR speakers. Anyone have these? Also, do you think I need to upgrade the rear doors in the sedan ... or is it unncecessary.....

Thanks for any feedback - AC

I had a set of Focals in my old GTI. They were great, but I also had an external amp powering them. The mid-bass on them seemed lacking when i ran them off of the radio. I would do the doors as well; you're not upper-class if you half-***.

lol..... I will have to do the rear doors then.... If I could afford to truly be upper class, I would be on the Lambo forum

Hit up your local audio shop to get a feel of the mids you like.
I dont recall what im running, but im more than happy with them, I am very happy with the adjustments. I picked up a DD from a friend and love it..my daughter likes watching movies on it while on little trips.
If you like I can run down to my garage to get the specifics, I still have the boxes.

Well if doing the rear doors means that you can afford a "lambo" then ill take two.

OP, you will want to allocate an amp for the door speakers, you can pick up a decent one for under $200, its well worth the adjustability. Ive ran a single amp in the past with the door speakers off the deck and the subs on an amp....its well worth the money to put the door speakers on a good amp. I would do that first then add the subs to suit.
ESP if you have a good deck to allocate the frequencies.

Ive had a set for about 10yrs. Will put them in the G when it gets warmer out. Great midbass but like said above, they love extra power. Definitely underpowered w/only a head units power.

Concentrate on the front speakers mostly. The rears are mostly just "filler" unless ou want your rear seat Passengers to experience the same level on sound.

What is your current set up? I read that you had mentioned your JL equipment, but what exactly do you have? What is your end goal? How much are you willing to spend? I have spent close to $3,000 in my G just in stereo modifications, and that doesn't even include an aftermarket head unit. Let me know what you are into, and I can point you in the some different directions based on what you perceive you want.

x 100000

Just get a good component set for the front doors and an amp to power them. I like CDT myself. But Focal and Rainbow are great as well. and really amp'd components will be just as loud in the back for passengers back there if adjusted properly, but you may have to adjust the sub down slightly for the rear seaters obviously.
